Brief on renovation
Diane contacted us via our website and we arranged to meet with her and her husband Mike to discuss their bathroom renovation. During the conversation they advised they are planning to renovate the whole house internally, but wanted to start with the bathroom, toilet and back door entrance. It was essential to them that we keep to the era of the house which meant we needed to keep the timber window and door frames incl. the doors. Diane advised the layout of the bathroom was fine and worked well with the busy family but wanted to modernise the overall look and feel, so we discussed options within their budget and needs in mind.
The bathroom was stripped back to the studs and textured ceiling removed. By doing this, we uncovered an issue where the shower was, where the floor was rotten, so it was an easy option to replace the damaged boards at this stage and fix the issue. We suggested at this stage, instead of tiling all the walls and floor, we advised to install vinyl on floor and partly tile the wall, which provides the room with a softer feel.
Diane and Mike requested we leave one toilet always installed/operation during the whole renovation which worked well and they are now enjoying their modernised bathroom.
